Replacement cycle
The replacement cycle of fume hood filters varies depending on factors such as the type of filter and the usage environment.
Primary filter: It is generally recommended to replace it every 3 to 6 months. In heavily polluted environments, such as industrial workshops and chemical plants, the replacement frequency may need to be shortened to monthly or even less.
Medium-efficiency filters: The replacement cycle is usually 6 to 12 months. Similarly, in a heavily polluted environment, the replacement frequency may need to be increased.
High-efficiency filters (such as HEPA filters) : The replacement cycle is relatively long, generally 12 to 24 months. However, in places with high cleanliness requirements, such as laboratories and operating rooms, more frequent replacements may be needed to ensure air quality.
Replacement method
Prepare the tools: Get gloves, a rag or a vacuum cleaner (for cleaning the dust around the filter), a new filter, etc. ready.
Power-off operation: Before starting the operation, make sure to turn off the power supply of the ventilation system to ensure safety.
Disassembling the old filter: Depending on the installation method of the filter, it may be necessary to remove the filter frame or open the door of the filter chamber. Pay attention to the installation direction of the filter, especially the high-efficiency filter. Usually, there are arrows indicating the wind direction. Carefully remove the old filter from the frame or filter chamber to avoid damaging the filter or the surrounding components.
Clean the surrounding environment: For washable filter screens (such as some primary or medium efficiency filter screens), they can be rinsed with clean water and dried. However, not all filters can be cleaned. Please confirm the cleaning requirements of the filter before cleaning. Meanwhile, use a cloth or vacuum cleaner to clean the dust and debris around the filter.
Install the new filter: Place the new filter in the frame or filter chamber in the correct direction. Ensure that the filter is well sealed with the frame to prevent air leakage. Use the necessary fasteners (such as screws, clips, etc.) to firmly install the filter in place.
Inspection and testing: After installation is completed, check whether the filter is installed correctly without any looseness or damage. Turn on the power of the ventilation system, check whether the system is operating normally and whether the filter is working effectively. If necessary, conduct air quality tests to ensure that the expected cleanliness requirements are met.
